Grunge is a hippied romantic version of punk. I love the 2000s because everyone started to love haute couture. Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. My shows are about the complete woman who swallows it all. It’s a question of survival. Sometimes the simplest things are the most profound.

First I made a dress because I was pregnant and I wanted to be the most beautiful pregnant woman. Then I made a sweater because I wanted to have one that wasn’t like anyone else’s. Comfort is very important to me. I think people live better in big houses and in big clothes.

The perfect selfie

I am never satisfied with myself and that is what keeps me going – I have no post-satisfaction. Sometimes the simplest things are the most profound. Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury. I am what I am. Before I was not so proud to make fashion. My family thought fashion wasn’t very interesting. So I hid that. Instead of buying six things, one thing that you really like. Don’t keep buying just for the sake of it.

I get ideas about what’s essential when packing my suitcase. It should be natural, and that’s how I like women to look. I like them to feel comfortable and look organic. There has to be a balance between your mental satisfaction and the financial needs of your company. You can only go forward by making mistakes. A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.
